I can't believe I am doing this. We are entering the 21st century at our house--thanks to our techno gifted children.
We are somewhat adventurous for seniors, I guess. We pulled up stakes and moved to New Mexico nearly 2 years ago. We left our almost lifetime home in Oregon to be near our grandchildren and enjoy the company of our son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Janene. We've not had a moment's regret. We love our new home and the climate--the sun actually shines here more than 300 days a year. We live in the boondocks about 20 minutes south of Gallup NM. We have 15 acres adjacent to the younger Vaughn's 15 acres. It is wonderful property with lots of Pine trees, sage and Juniper. It reminds us of Central Oregon, which we have always loved--minus the flowing streams. That is the only thing we miss--water. We are fortunate to have good wells for our household use though and don't take that for granted. Our location also puts us closer to our daughter and son-in-law in LA. We just wish they lived next door too!
We have two little grandsons--Brannoc and Shepard. They truly light up our lives. What beautiful boys they are. Brannoc is 3 and 1/2 and Shepard is almost a month old! Brannoc has personality plus and jabbers constantly, informing you about how things are and also asking a million questions. It will be fun to experience little Shepard's personality develop. Right now he seems like a mellow little guy
Our lives pretty much revolve around the family. Papa enjoys things like fishing the San Juan, hunting in the State Forest near here and a yearly elk hunting trip with Gary and good friends. I find lots to do and am still weaving some pine needle baskets in spare time. We are happy and going to have our 44th wedding anniversary later this summer. Can't ask for much more
. Much love, Grammy
